I changed my computer's time to an incorrect time. Why hasn't Yacs updated it?
Yacs will only update your computer's time while your computer has an Internet connection. When an Internet connection is present, it may take two to four minutes before Yacs corrects your clock. (Top)

How accurate does Yacs keep my computer's clock?
Yacs will correct your computer's clock if it finds it to be off by 15 to 30 seconds. Immediately after Yacs sets your PC's clock, it is accurate within about 5 seconds. Keep in mind, the purpose of Yacs it to keep your clock accurate for practical purposes. For special applications which require better accuracy, look into a network time synchronizer that utilizes NTP (Network Time Protocol) and NTP servers. (Top)

How do I force Yacs to update the clock immediately?
To force Yacs to set your computer's clock immediately, change the computer's time by 5 or 10 minutes while you have an active Internet connection. Yacs will update your clock within a minute or two. Note: The time that shows in the taskbar may not reflect a change in your computer's time clock for several minutes. To see the time change immediately, leave the Date/Time control panel open (double click on the time on the taskbar) and you will see the clock change immediately when the Yacs update occurs. (Top)

Yacs is setting my clock to the incorrect time.
Run the Windows "Date/Time" control panel (double click on the time on the taskbar), click on the "Time Zone" tab and make sure you have the proper time zone chosen for your locale. (Top)

How often does Yacs run?
Yacs activates itself every two minutes or so. This ensures Yacs will have a chance to communicate with a time server whenever you may dial-in to use the Internet. Keep in mind that Yacs exchanges an extremely small amount of data - far less than even the simplest web page request - so overhead is very minimal. (Top)

Why does my Firewall display a notification about Yacs?
Yacs communicates with time servers on the Internet in order to obtain the actual time. Your firewall software detects Yacs attempting to connect to a time server and warns you of the communication attempt. When your firewall issues this alert, choose the response that tells your firewall to allow Yacs to communicate. (Top)

How do I disable Yacs?
